- Antique English Majolica Shell & Seaweed Platter c.1800’s, em185
Offered is this beautiful antique majolica platter tray.
Unsigned, we believe this to have been made by George Jones who did not sign many of his early pieces.
This gorgeous antique majolica tray features a mottled center and shells and seaweed on the rim.
It is in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks. It has some glaze wear on the edge of the rim, a stilt mark on the front from being fired in the kiln, a line on the back that is under the glaze which does not go through and overall glaze crazing, all which is normal and expected with antique majolica.
It measures 8.5 inches long and just over 7.5 inches wide.
