Offered for your private collection is this lovely antique majolica figural match holder safe with striker from the 1800's.
It features a little boy in a hat with a pitcher getting water from the well which pours out from the lion's mouth. The match striker is on the back.
It is in very good antique condition for its great age with no chips! It does have a few hairlines and some overall glaze crazing due to age and use which is normal and expected from an item this old. It has impressed numbers in the clay on the bottom "266_" and a small mark in red on the bottom.
It measures 4 inches wide and stands 4.25 inches tall.
This will make a nice addition to your personal collection!
