Offered is this magnificent and rare antique French oyster plate.
Made by Theodore Haviland in Limoges, France in the 1890's.
It features five raised hand painted white and gold seaweeds that makes it look like a star. The scalloped and molded rim is trimmed in gold.
It has 5 wells for oysters and the center for lemon wedges.
It is well marked on the back as seen in photo.
It is in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks. There is a faint ageline on the center back that does not go through and mentioned for accuracy.
It measures 8.75 inches in diameter, the perfect size for display or use.
