Offered is this rare and beautiful antique Marx & Gutherz porcelain oyster plate.
Marked on the back and from the late 1800's.
It features 5 pink and white weals for oysters and a center well for sauce or lemon. All of the wells have hand painted 'oyster scars' as if you have just scooped the oyster out of the shell. All of the wells are surrounded in gold. The scalloped and square rim features two double hearts and flowers and leaves in magenta and contoured in gold.
It is in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks. Some gold loss to the rim which is normal for a piece this old.
It measures 8.75 inches wide.
