Offered for your private antique majolica collection is this magnificent antique Victorian majolica handled basket.
It sits on 4 scrolled feet. The outside of the basket is crosshatched and at the base of the handle on each side is a lovely female face with a pink hat and surrounded by scrolling flowers.
The inside of the basket has a mottled green and brown bottom and pink sides.
The bottom has 3 stilt marks from the kiln and is marked with an "x".
It is in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks! It has overall glaze crazing and one lady's face has an eye more impressed than the other.
It measures 8.5 inches long from foot to foot and over 6.5 inches wide from foot to foot. It stands 6.5 inches tall.
