Offered is a beautiful and hard to find antique majolica plate circa 1818-1850.
I have found the makers mark in my book of Sarreguemines marks. It states that this mark was used by the manufacture of the Schramberg magolica factory in Germany that was founded in 1818 by Isidor Faist. This mark was used on majolica close to the third part of the 19th century.
This beautiful antique majolica plate features art nouveau motifs with an ornate rim that goes into a brown patterned basket weave then into leaves and blackberries.
It has a high gloss and deep rich colors!
It measures 8 inches in diameter.
It is in excellent condition for its great age, there was a tiny chip that was repaired at the factory because it is under glaze, see photo 2, otherwise no chips or cracks! Stilt marks on the back from being fired in the kiln.
Add this gorgeous antique majolica plate to your private collection or give as a fabulous gift today!
