Offered for your collecting enjoyment is this lovely antique French faience majolica plate.
Made by Nicolas Fenal who purchased the Pexonne majolica factory in 1828. This plate was made in the later half of the 1800's.
It is marked on the back as seen in photo.
It features two little birds or finches that are yellow, white and blue sitting on Holly branches with green leaves and red berries.
The scalloped edge is done in swirls like icing on a cake! Just beautiful!
It measures 7.75 inches in diameter.
It is in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks! It has overall glaze crazing which is normal for antique majolica.
