THIS ITEM HAS BEEN SOLD.
Offered for your private collection is this beautiful antique faience humidor in the early 1900's.
Made in Holland by one of the oldest factories in the Netherlands that started in 1610.
This large humidor is hand painted with blue designs of an Indian on each side of the front holding tobacco leaves and smoking a calumet pipe with Dutch ships in the background traveling to the West Indies on each side.
The jar is labeled "Toeback".
This lovely humidor measures about 8 inches tall with lid and 6.5 inches wide.
The humidor canister is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks!
The lid is brass and has a clay piece that you wet down to keep your tobacco moist. It is original to the piece and says "Kon. Geodewaagen " on the bottom and "OCTR. Aangeur " on the top part.
The only condition issues to the lid is 2 splits in the brass and some wear to the finish which gives it a great vintage antique patina and great character!
I have found a similar humidor in one of my reference books which values it at 1300 euros or about $1400 today.
Add this to your personal collection today or give as a fabulous antique gift!
