Offered for your personal collection is this rare antique figural majolica double open salt.
Made by Clement Massier who was born in 1845 and died in 1917. In 1883 he moved his business to Glofe-Juan in the south of France.
Here we have a beautiful piece from that time!
This donkey is carrying two baskets on his back to hole your salt and pepper.
He is well marked as seen in photo.
He is in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks! The glaze is thicker in some places and thinner on others and some spots that are not covered at all which enhances it's beauty!
On close inspection there may be a few glaze touch ups which is normal to find on antique majolica, I have pointed out a few spots and there are others which I am out of photos for, but is well done and does not detract from the beauty of this Rare piece.
He is a beautiful vibrant blue which will look gorgeous on your table or as a display piece!
He measures 6 inches long, 4.25 inches wide and stands 5.5 inches tall.
