Offered for your personal collection is this magnificent antique hand painted wall platter.
This was hand painted by one of my favorite French faience artists, Henri Chaumeil.
He was born in 1877 and worked with his father, Alcide Chaumeil, in their Paris factory.
He did this type of decoration between 1890-1920. His father passed away in 1919 and Henri went on to create his own art work in crackled glaze pottery which was the craze in the 1920's and 30's.
This gorgeous hand painted wall platter is signed by Henri on the back with his initials and it’s very hard to see unless you turn the platter in a certain light says ‘Decor Strasbourg, Fait Main’.
It features a scalloped rim with 'combing' and flowers, leaves and different types of insects.
The center has a gorgeous array of colorful flowers.
It is in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks.
It measures 11.25 inches in diameter.
