Offered for your personal collection is this rare color of antique Authentic French Limoges Turkey design oyster plate.
Well marked with the 1888-1896 makers mark and also with the US importers mark.
It features "a scattering of oysters and aquatic plant life around 5 wells. The overall clustering of the shells is reminiscent of the turkey native to the Americas" thus referenced as a Turkey or Turkey design oyster plate.
This one has brown and gold oyster shells which makes the turkey design, green and gold seaweed on a deep magenta red background with a ruffled gold rim.
It is in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks that I see. Two spots on the back are missing glaze which seems to be normal on all of the real French Limoges Turkey oyster plates that I have seen.
It measures 8.5 inches in diameter.
