Offered for your private collection is this fabulous antique Hand Painted french faience charger.
It is unmarked but we believe it to come form Luneville or the Strasbourg region of France and was made before 1880.
It is very beautiful with three reticulated or lace cut sections of the rim where you can lace a satin ribbon through in order to hang this on your wall!
In between the reticulated sections are three cartouche with a butterfly, a moth and some other type of bug.
In the center you have what looks to be a Chinese monk looking over his shoulder holding a long pipe in the middle of a field with flowers and vegetation all around. Just beautiful!
It is in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks!
We do have several plates available. All have stilt marks on the front and back from being fired in the kiln. 2 have a 1/4 inch fireline from the kiln, all normal and expected with antique faience and majolica.
It measures 10.5 inches wide.
