Offered is this stunning and rare antique French Victorian Limoges oyster plate.
It was made by the Charles Field Haviland and Gerard, Dufraisseix and Morel company in Limoges, France in the 1880's.
This is what they called a Lady's oyster plate because it held only 4 oysters.
This beautiful oyster plate features a wonderful molded and scalloped form with a gold rim with gold and blue flowers sprinkled about.
The back is well marked with the 1880's makers mark in green under glaze and the blue factory decorating mark.
It measures 7.5 inches in diameter.
It is in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks.
This will make a wonderful addition to your antique oyster plate collection and will be stunning on any color table cloth such as red, green, blue white or gold.
