- Antique Majolica Tobacco Jar Humidor with Pipe c,1850-1880, gm755
Offered is a beautiful antique green and blue Austrian majolica humidor tobacco jar decorated in the Art Nouveau style made in the 1800's.
This lovely tobacco jar features a lid with a pipe on it. Flip the lid over and there is the opening where you are suppose to put a sponge. Wet the sponge, wring it out, slip it in and it will keep your tobacco humid!
The body of the humidor features Art Nouveau form and lily pads and flowers.
The bottom is well marked with the form number impressed into the clay, 8765. I think this could have been made in 1865 in Austria.
Condition is excellent for its age!!! I see no chips or cracks on the body of the humidor. The lid has a small chip on the under rim of one corner which is common and expected with antique majolica.
It measures 4.5 inches long by 3.25 inches wide and stands 4 inches tall with the pipe.
Be sure to see all of our Tobacco Items and Dresser Items in our store!
