Offered for your private collection is this beautiful antique hand painted French Limoges game birds wall plate.
Made by the George Borgfeldt Limoges company between 1906-1920.
"Expertly and richly decorated plaques and plates with game birds, floral and Figural themes carry the Coronet Mark....Artist signatures are found ...to be in great demand by collectors". This plate is signed by the known Limoges artist "L. Coudert" who was known for his Animals, Game Birds and Flowers. Also, "pieces trimmed with wide gold borders are higher in price than those without".
This beautiful antique plate has a sculpted and molded border with a wide gold rim.
The center features two grouss game birds, one appears to be eating while the other acts as look-out.
It is nicely signed "L. Coudert".
It is in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks!
It measures 10.25 inches tall at its widest part.
It is well marked with the George Borgfeldt Coronet Mark on the back.
It also has four factory holes on the back so you can hang it on your wall!
