Offered for your collecting enjoyment is this lovely antique oyster plate.
I have had many of these over the years that were marked with the Haviland and Co. mark. This one was made between 1855 and 1891 before they had to start marking each item with the country of manufacture.
This one is marked with the impressed numbers of 765 and hand written numbers under the glaze of 75, so we feel this plate was made in 1875.
It has 6 wells for oysters and a center well in blue for lemon or vinegrette.
It is in excellent condition for its great age with no chips or cracks!
It does have some wear to the high points from stacking which is normal for a plate this old.
It measures almost 9 inches in diameter.
This will make a wonderful addition to your oyster plate collection!
