Beautiful antique French Limoges porcelain fish cabinet plate. Made for the Lewis Straus & Sons company.
The Lewis Straus company exported Limoges to their New York based company from 1890-1920. Their mark is found as the over glaze mark on French Limoges factory decorated items.
This plate also has the blue underglaze white ware mark from 1891.
It features a scalloped and molded rim trimmed in gold with the center of a hand painted Mediterranean Red Ocean Perch fish highlighted in gold. There are pink and white flowers with green leaves. The flowers and water are highlighted with hand enameling. It is really a lovely plate!
It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks!
It measures 9.25 inches in diameter, the perfect size for display!!
