Offered for your private collection is this beautiful antique Limoges oyster plate.
Marked on the back with the numbers 2232/73, we believe this was made in 1873. They did not have to put the country of manufacturing until 1891.
This is such a beautiful form! It has pink flowers and brown leaves. The molded form is really accentuated with gold outlining.
It has 5 wells for oysters and a center well for lemon or sauce.
It is in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks! It has a light fire line on the back as seen in the last photo. This is from being fired in the kiln and is normal for an item like this, it is not seen from the front.
It measures 8.5 inches in diameter.
