Made in the Clairfontaine majolica factory in France between 1860-1885 by Emile Rigal and his brother in law Jules Sanejouand. This plate is nicely marked with their makers mark!
It features a beautiful maiden holding a gleaning implement so we believe she represents the fall harvest.
The rim is beautifully adorned with scrolling flowers and leaves.
This gorgeous antique plate measures 9 inches in diameter.
It is in excellent antique condition with no chips or cracks! It does have a few utensil marks and stilt marks on the back from being fired in the kiln which is normal and expected.
