Offered for your private collection is this spectacular antique Griffen, Smith & Co. Teapot.
They started in 1879 and William Hill left the firm and the company was renamed Griffen, Smith & Company in 1882.
They fired their majolica at low temperatures that produced a soft effect especially for the Shell and Seaweed wares.
This teapot is what is known as the Albino line and sell between $1635-$1995.
This is a rare find! It is albino shells with peachy-orange coral.
It has a shell fineal on the lid. The handle, the spout and the fineal have never been broken!
It is in excellent antique condition for its great age with overall interior crazing and a few small chips on the bottom of the long interior lid, see photos.
It measures 6 inches tall and 8.5 inches from spout to handle.
