Offered for the discerning collector is this beautiful antique hand painted plate from the Les Islettes faience factory from the east of France.
This factory started in 1735 and closed in 1848.
Plates from Les Islettes sold at auction between 350 euros to over 1000 euros and I found plates in an antique shop in France for 1200 euros, which was almost $1700.
This plate features a portrait of Madame Bernard, the wife of the factory owner in an oval frame with olive branches held with a large red bow.
The rim is trimmed in blood red and "combed".
It measures 9.75 inches in diameter.
It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks!
There may have been one very small repair but was well done, which is normal for a plate of this age.
This will be a fabulous addition to your antique French faience collection or give as a wonderful gift!
Be sure to see all of our Faience and Plates in our store!
