Offered for your collecting enjoyment is this very rare lovely hand painted Limoges Pheasant game birds platter.
This platter was made by the Barny & Rigoni porcelain company in Limoges, France. It has the green whiteware mark of 1894 and was hand painted and signed by the Limoges artist L.Thabard.
It has the green overglaze decorating mark that dates this plate to have been hand painted in their studio between 1904-1906. This company only existed from 1894-1906 and the pieces made during this time were highly decorated, after that new owners changed the name to La Porcelain Limousine.
It features an ornately scrolled, scalloped and molded hand painted gold rim with gold floral leaf accents on a light pink and white rim.
The center scene is of a hand painted family of three pheasants walking amonst the forest flowers and brush with a beautiful sunset sky.
It is signed by a known Limoges artist of that time, "L. Thabard".
It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
It measures 18 inches long, 12.25 inches wide and stands 2.25 inches tall.
