- Antique French Desvres n. Quimper Faience Platter Tray, fm614
For your collecting enjoyment is this beautiful antique faience double handled platter, tray from Desvres, France.
Hand painted and signed by Henri Delcourt, circa 1913-1935. The colors are cobalt blue and yellow. The central theme is that of the mythological Greek god Pan who was the god of the mountains and woods, shepherds and flocks, hunting and rustic music and was the companion of nymphs.
In his homeland of Arcadia, Pan is known as the god of fields, groves, wooded glens and is connected to fertility and the season of spring.
This beautiful antique piece is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The front is perfect!! It may have had a very small repair on the back edge but is well done and does not detract, see photo 7.
This will make a beautiful and useful display piece !
It measures 12.25 inches long by 9.25 inches wide.
