- Antique Majolica Pipe on Leaf Plate Match Holder Dish c1800's, fm956
Offered for your collecting enjoyment is this lovely antique Aesthetic Movement majolica Pipe on Leaf Match Holder dish.
This was made in Austria between 1850-1900.
It is marked on the back with the form numbers "7783" and "56", we believe this to have been made in 1856.
It features a pipe on a life-like cabbage or kale leaf.
It measures 5.75 inches long, 4.25 inches wide and stands 2 inches tall. The inside of the pipe bowl will allow you to put your matches in about 1.5 inches so they will be secure and will rest on the edge of the dish. Once you have used your match you can place it on the leaf part of the dish.
It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks! There is a small spot on the pipe that looks like it may have been a bursted air bubble in the clay which is common in antique majolica.
Add this to your private collection today or give as a fabulous and unique gift!
Be sure to see all of our Tobacco and Dresser Items in our store!
