- Antique Hand Painted French Faience Birds of Paradise Bowl c.1890-1920, ff376
Offered for your collecting enjoyment is this beautiful antique hand painted handled bowl or dish.
Hand painted and signed under glaze by Henri Chaumeil between 1890-1920. I really love his works of art!
This handled bowl features a central theme of two beautiful birds of paradise sitting in a tree talking to each other.
The unusual handle has a dot pattern on it and the rim around the outside is painted to look like it is scalloped and "combed" with a dot and line pattern. The whole thing is just stunning.
We believe this may be a "sweet meats" dish where the hostess could offer chocolate or sweets without putting her finger into the bowl.
It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks, there is one small glaze flake on the handle as seen in the fotos.
It measures 6.5 inches long with the handle.
Add this to your antique French faience collection today or give as a fabulous gift!
