Offered for your private collection is this beautiful antique deep red and green colored German majolica plate.
Made by the Villeroy & Boch factory in Baden-Wuerttemberg/ Schramberg Germany. This factory was founded in 1818 by Isidor Faist who sold it to Villeroy & Boch in 1883 who kept it until 1912.
This lovely plate features a central green lily flower and a rim adorned with white lily of the valley flowers. The deep red color is a more rare color, if you look in my store, I have the same plate with a light blue background and with a mocha coffee colored background!
The scalloped rim is reticulated or pierced so you can thread a ribbon through to hang it on your wall!
The back is marked with a stamped "Germany" and has impressed numbers "1132/8".
It measures 7.5 inches in diameter.
It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks!
