Offered for your private collection is this rather unusual French majolica cat pitcher.
According to my book on pitchers this was made by the Orchies factory in the north of France. It does not have the country of orgine on it so it was made before 1891 and the book tells me that the majority of their production was not signed. This pitcher only has a model number on the bottom. It also tells me that he is playing the mandoline. If you see the last photo, his value is over $700.
He has emerald green eyes, a dark red bow tie, brown jacket and black pants.
He measures 9.25 inches tall and 7.5 inches wide from nose to handle.
He is in excellent condition for his great age with no chips or cracks! He does have overall glaze crazing which is normal for antique and vintage majolica.
Add this to your personal collection today or give as a fabulous gift!!
