Offered for your collecting enjoyment is this beautiful antique French faience flowered vase.
It is signed by Henri Chaumeil who we know was born in 1877 and died in 1944 and worked for Les Islettes, but could have worked at other factories as well. It does have the "combing" that is typical of the Les Islettes factory. Henri Chaumeil did this type of painting mostly between 1890-1920.
It features a beautiful rococo shaped and molded top and feet.
One side features a large hand painted rose and wild flower bouquet and several bugs, the other side features possibley a large red pivoine or peony flower with a coneflower and green leaves tied together with a red ribbon, no bugs on that side so this would be the back although you could turn it every few days to change the look!
It measures about 12.5 inches tall and 6.5 inches wide.
It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs!
It is well marked on the bottom "DECOR STRASBOURG, FAIT MAIN, CH".
