Offered is this beautiful antique majolica breakfast cup and platter.
Made by James Wardle around 1884.
This was Wardle's most popular pattern known as the Bird and Fan which is an Oriental styled motif that he rendered on a variety of table wares and other functional wares.
The platter measures 13 inches long and 7 inches wide. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
The large breakfast cup measures 2.75 inches tall and is 5 inches wide with the handle. It is in excellent antique condition for its age with an age line and overall glaze crazing mostly seen from the inside of the cup.
